06 Ağustos 2025 - OTHER Announcements

Information is provided regarding the Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development. Turkey, along with Qatar, became a member of the Partnership, which includes the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, and Morocco, at the High Committee Meeting held in Qatar on February 8-9, 2025.

The partnership aims to bring together manufacturers operating in the cooperation areas determined by the partnership (pharmaceuticals, agriculture, food, fertilizers, chemicals, plastics and derivatives, metals, minerals and derivatives, and textiles) among the member countries and to enable these companies to collaborate in areas they need, such as joint investment, supply, and trade.

To this end, workshops were held on June 11, 2024, and March 20, 2025, with the participation of companies, to promote the partnership and to inform companies operating in relevant sectors in our country.

Project proposals submitted by companies participating in the workshops were shared with the Partnership Secretariat, and some of these projects were shortlisted and shared with potential partner companies in member countries. However, feedback received from participating countries and the Partnership Secretariat indicated that the project costs submitted by our country were relatively low, that the submitted project proposals were mostly aimed at seeking financing for investments to be made in Türkiye, and that the products sought for investment in the projects were mostly still in the R&D phase and not yet final products. In this context, the Partnership needs to be re-announced to large-scale companies operating in the aforementioned sectors.

The Partnership Secretariat emphasized that companies applying for projects must submit project proposals requiring an investment of at least US$50 million, that the products to be included in the projects must be in the final product stage, not the R&D stage, and that these final products must be capable of being supplied and traded between member countries.

In this context, the presentation explaining the structure of the partnership, the information note regarding the partnership, and the documents required for the project proposal are attached. Project proposals should be entered into the relevant document and sent to the email address coktarafli@sanayi.gov.tr. The next evaluation of project proposals is planned to be held at a meeting to be held in early August, and proposals submitted by this date will be included in the evaluation. However, project proposals that cannot be submitted by this deadline may be considered in subsequent evaluation processes.

On the other hand, the project proposals submitted by Jordan are attached to assess whether Turkish companies can participate in these projects. A list of products that play a significant role in Qatar"s exports is also attached, and it is deemed useful to evaluate which of these products can be imported by Turkish companies. Likewise, any proposals regarding these matters are expected to be forwarded to the email address coktarafli@sanayi.gov.tr.
