In the relevant letter sent by the General Directorate of International Agreements and European Union of the Ministry of Commerce;
“In the articles of interest, the third version of the electronic customs system called Import Control System-2 (ICS2) of the European Union (EU) is included and the operational process is planned to start before the road and railway transportation within the scope of the said version. Information is provided specifically for maritime transport.
This time, on the official website of the European Commission General Directorate of Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD) (https://taxation-customs.ec.europa.eu/news/import- In an announcement made (control-system-2-ics2-live-maritime-and-inland-waterway-transport-2024-06-03_en), it is stated that a new work schedule has been put into effect and the said version is divided into three stages.
On the other hand, in the said announcement, the relevant version will be put into operation in the first phase for sea and inland waterway carriers on 3 June 2024 and the transition process will be completed by 4 December 2024 at the latest; In the second stage, for economic actors (such as freight forwarders, agencies) that provide information at the intermediate bill of lading level in sea and inland waterway transportation, it will be put into operation on December 4, 2024 and the transition process will be completed by April 1, 2025 at the latest; It is stated that in the third stage, it is planned to be put into operation on April 1, 2025 for road and rail transporters and to complete the transition process by September 1, 2025 at the latest.
