In the letter sent to our Union by the Ministry of Trade; it is stated that the general provisions of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, which was published in the Official Journal of the EU on January 22, 2025, with the aim of reducing packaging waste, increasing the recyclability and reusability of existing packaging, within the scope of the Circular Economy Action Plan, and which entered into force on February 11, 2025, and which revises the Packaging Directive of 1994, are foreseen to be implemented as of August 12, 2026, after an 18-month transition period.
