The European Commission has announced that the application process for the 2025 Product Safety Awards has begun. Applications for the award, which can be applied by companies and researchers who develop applications that are more advanced than EU regulations on product safety and aim to increase consumer safety, will be open until August 31, 2025.

In this context, SMEs and large companies will be evaluated separately, a total of six awards will be presented in two categories, bronze, silver and gold, and the companies that win the award will be able to use the award logo on their products. The winning researchers will have the chance to present their projects at the 2025 International Product Safety Week.

Companies that will apply for the award must be located in countries within the European Economic Area and must apply with an initiative that has been realized at least 3 months before the start of the competition applications. In this context, the award supports business initiatives focusing on the following areas:

Improving the safety of products other than food, medicine and medical devices that provide exceptional safety to their users by addressing specific risks, limitations and/or foreseeable correct or incorrect use.

Improving the safety of shopping channels.

Highlighting and preventing product safety risks through awareness-raising initiatives.

Facilitating market surveillance activities and product testing.

Other types of initiatives that contribute to the goal of protecting consumers from dangerous products.
