Within the scope of the project, it was aimed to train the front office, kitchen services and service techniques required by the tourism sector developing in the region in line with the needs analyzes made for İskenderunlu women.

Results of the Project:

  • 50 women selected from 240 applications participated in the training of front office, kitchen techniques and service techniques required by the tourism sector.
  • Contributing to the sustainable tourism development by providing the labor force needed by the target sector and increasing the registered employment of women.
  • Seminars on harmonization of the project have been given to women and studies have been carried out to inform micro and macro credits.
  • The technical capacity obtained from the project and the sales and marketing staff training required by the Iskenderun Free Zone in the near future will be trained.
  • 2 women have established their own business.
  • 4 women employed in tourism companies.

Supporting Women’s Employment General Information on Grant Scheme:

The Grant Scheme for the Support of Women’s Employment was implemented in 2010-2011 under the Human Resources Development Operational Program, the 4th component of the European Union Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA).The program was implemented by İŞKUR.The overall objective of the Women’s Employment Promotion Grant Scheme is; Is to develop effective active labor market measures and increase the implementation capacity of measures to increase the employability of women in growth centers and increases in NUTS II regions with less than 75% of Turkey’s average. To increase women’s employability; support women entrepreneurship; It is anticipated that women’s participation in the labor market will be achieved through grant projects that will reduce cultural and other barriers. The total budget for Operation Support for Women’s Employment is 27,150,589 million Euros. EUR 23,770,589 million of this figure was used for the Grant Scheme applied to 43 nations located in 12 NUTS II regions. 131 projects have been successfully implemented within the scope of the grant program, which selects women outside the labor market for a long time as a target group for reasons such as care responsibilities and agricultural disintegration.
